ipheth-utils software package provides USB tethering driver support utilities for the iPhone, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ipheth-utils
ipheth-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ipheth-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ipheth-utils *
You will get with ipheth-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
